Job Title: Executive Director (ED)
FLSA Status: Not Applicable, Independent Contractor

Compensation: $20,000.00 – $25,000.00 per year/DOE

Who you are: You are excited to be a servant leader of a collaborative team, perform and direct activities of the organization, which consist of year round activities of community engagement, annual Summer Conference planning, and leadership training. You enjoy being hands-on alongside team members and want to grow an established non-profit organization dedicated to its community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The ED ensures that TAF’s values are expressed consistently, enabling people of Taiwanese heritage to make a profound impact on mankind in unique and compassionate ways.
- The ED works closely with the President and the Board to:
- Develop and execute a strategic, visionary, and capital projects plan for the organization, as well as operating goals that stem from those priorities.
- Provides timely reports to the Board as requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- The ED performs various operating and managerial activities, including:
- Development of a staffing structure that supports the efficient delivery of programs and services.
- In close collaboration with the Senior Directors, oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services that support the mission of the organization.
- Oversight of all marketing activities, including new media outlets and technological and database platforms.
- Oversight over the Conference Director and guides the process of advertising, recruiting staff and ensuring the safety of campers during the annual Summer Conference. Works with conference staff, vets applications, and advises on the awarding of scholarships.
- Being a humble leader who allows the Conference Director to be the “face” of the conference for parents and children.
- Serving as the spokesperson for TAF across the nation and building positive relationships with other Taiwanese American organizations and communities.
- The ED provides fiscal oversight, including:
- Leading fundraising efforts by developing sustainable fundraising plans and processes for the organization, personally cultivating and soliciting donors, and supporting the Board’s involvement in fundraising,
- Development of a realistic annual budget, providing regular, timely internal financial statements to the Board that compare performance to budget and to the previous year or other relevant benchmarks. Plans for adequate cash flow to cover operational needs and promote fiscal responsibility throughout the organization.

- Proven ability to discern individual strengths, be compassionate when giving direct feedback, encourage skill development in a supportive way, and compile a team that complements one another.
- Excellent organizational and follow through skills to manage multiple priorities and activities at once.
- Delegates effectively: Ability to develop flexible, yet sustainable systems and processes pertaining to the effective operation of conference programs and business operations.
- Ability to manage or oversee financial management of an organization effectively.
- Fundraising skills: proven non-profit experience and success in the development of fundraising programs and in the direct cultivation and solicitation of donors.
- Communication skills: verbal and written, with individuals and groups, public speaking.
